Lafayette

Lafayette Past & Present

Lafayette, CO was originally farm land owned by Mary and Lafayette Miller who later founded the area in 1888. Located in Boulder County, Lafayette was also well-known for being a large coal-mining town. By the late 1950s, the city had halted with the coal-mining industry and went back to being an agriculture-based community. Now the booming city is home to a population of about 28,641 residents and a wonderful place to find homes for sale. Lafayette is situated just ten miles east of Boulder and about 23 miles northwest from the heart of downtown Denver.
