Brighton Past & Present

Brighton, CO was founded in the 1870s and originally named Hughes Station. It began as a stage/railroad depot and farming town and is now home to a population of about 33,352. Brighton is bordered by the South Platte River on the west and by Interstate-76 to the southeast. Located in both Adams and Weld counties, Brighton is just 18 miles from the Denver International Airport and 22 miles northeast from downtown Denver.
